SUMMARY:A brief of our visit to Karamajiji community
DESCRIPTION:In a popular Abuja community known as a colony for the handicap
 ped and destitute\, where life can be seen from the eyes of penury\, The C
 hioma States Afonne Foundation (TCSAF) sought to beam hope in another roun
 d of relentless support for the underserved and less privileged in the soc
 iety\n\nDespite the pitiable and sub-human nature of life in Karamajiji co
 mmunity\, the residents were friendly and warm at the arrival of our team 
 of five local volunteers who were on the ground to extend a hand of suppor
 t in line with TCSAF's mission of effectively supporting the less privileg
 ed with food\, access to basic healthcare services and educational assista
 nce mostly for the girl child.\n\nA largely Muslim community\, Karamajiji 
 leaders and elders took our team on a tour of the community for an on-site
  assessment of the basic needs of the people. Suleiman\, one of the elders
  desires to have schools in the community as there is only one primary sch
 ool which is owned by a local church. They had other needs like healthcare
  centers as their women in labour usually move long distances to give birt
 h and receive treatments. Other needs were skills training\, pipe-borne wa
 ter\, and electricity\, which are near extinct.\n\nAs though it was a cele
 bration time\, the elders\, women\, and children\, including the disabled 
 numbering over 160 were overjoyed when our team of volunteers distributed 
 food supplies (bags of rice\, cartons of indomie noodles\, bags of water\,
  and different varieties of cooking ingredients for several families). The
 y were excited to experience love and care and be remembered because they 
 always felt out of place and forgotten.\n\nCSA Foundation's visit to this 
 warm community was a success.\n\nWatch out for our next tour
