SUMMARY:JSS DAWAKI & KAGINI
DESCRIPTION:\n\nTouching lives begins with a helping hand\, at The Chioma S
tates Afonne Foundation ( TCSAF) we love to give helping hands. On the 23r
d of January 2023\, we were privileged to leave our footprints along with
our team of volunteers in two governments schools namely \;\n\n \n\n J.S.
 S Dawaki\n \n J.S.S Kagini\nIn some parts of Nigeria\, education is predo
minantly the prerogative of the rich.\nIt is also very absurd that in the
 21st century\, a lot of people don't consider education a necessity\, some
don't even give equal privileges for the girl child to acquire as much ed
ucation as the boy child.\nThe 6-3-3-4 educational system in Nigeria was i
ntroduced in 1982\;\n(i) six years of primary school (roughly for 5-11-yea
r-olds) regarded as basic education\;\n(ii) three years of junior secondar
y school (roughly 11-13-year olds)\;\n(iii) three years of senior secondar
y school (roughly 13-16/17-year-olds).\nIt is important to note that\, "th
e Universal Basic Education Programme was introduced in 1999 by the Federa
l Government of Nigeria as a reform program aimed at providing greater acc
ess to\, and ensuring the quality of basic education throughout Nigeria".\
 n\n \n\nAt J.S.S Dawaki\, we were opportune to meet with the Principal\, M
 r. Santas Emmanuel who informed us that JSS1\, 2&amp\;3 classes are sub-di
 vided into a \, b \, c &amp\; d with an avareage of 81 students to accomad
ate a number of students in each classroom.\nThe Principal showed us aroun
d the school premisses. We met with the students and they were so excited
to welcome us with so much happiness. The members of staff were warm and o
rganized. The Principal also shared with us a few more problems the school
was having especially related to the building . We took note of an open r
oof that needed repair and the ceiling of the classroom that required a co
mplete fix.\nThe most exciting time of our visit to J.S.S Darwarki was the
time we handed the students the educational materials we bought them.\nWe
requested a list of students whose parents found it challenging to foot t
heir school fees. The bursar presented us a list of 25 students and we gla
dly paid off their school fees for the current term (Second term) and the
coming term (third term) - two terms in total. This was the most important
goal we had to achieve before leaving for the next school and it was our
 pleasure.\n\n \n\nMoving to J.S.S Kagini\, we couldn't meet with the schoo
l's Principal\, Mr J Abiodun Sunday but the Vice-Principal was very much h
appy to welcome us. The students were rounding up for the day as it was al
most closing hours and it is in one of our best wishes to have had enough
time to interact with the students but that didn't withhold us from delive
ring the gifts we had for them . The school's accountant provided us with
a list containing the names of students that should benefit from the schoo
l fees payment. These students were from families that were either experie
ncing difficulties paying the school bills or orpahned and without hesitat
ion we were so glad to assist. We wish we could do more.\n\n \n\nYour cont
ributions would impact someone's live greatly and its never to late to joi
n us in changing the world one place at a time.\n\n
